In 2002, our founder Chris Amos, got his first job teaching and coaching at South Broward High School, in Hollywood, Florida. His first athletic director and mentor as a young coach was Mr. Chris Hixon, who was the Athletic Director at South Broward at that time. Following that our founder and Mr. Hixon stayed connected and met occasionally when our founder was coaching college football and recruited several of Mr. Hixon's players. Mr. Hixon always kept encouraging our founder to grow as a teacher, coach, and person. On February 14, 2018, Chris Hixon was killed in the horrific shooting that took place at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. Chris Amos, our founder never imagined that he would be watching the news that terrible day and praying for his friend. Tragically, Mr. Hixon lost his life that day but his legacy lives on through his amazing example as a teacher, mentor, and friend. Hometown Team Sports has teamed with the Chris Hixon Foundation to offer these one-of-a-kind, full leather, long strap batting gloves. Ms. Debbie Hixon, Mr. Hixon's wife, who was also a teacher at South Broward when our founder attended SBHS, has gone on to help the students and parents of Broward County Schools, now serving as a school board member all the while continuing to keep Chris' Legacy at the forefront of the foundation. All proceeds from the sales of these custom batting gloves will go to the Chris Hixon Foundation. They are offered in Red, White and Blue with the Foundations logo on the cuff and the American Flag on the wrist, in 4 different combinations. We know you are going to love them, and you are helping a great cause that will continue the legacy of Chris Hixon.
