Hometown Team Sports provides custom uniforms, apparel, and equipment for teams nationwide. Founded by coaches for coaches, we solve the real pain points of ordering team gear—delivering quality, speed, and affordability with a customer-first approach.

Role Overview:

We are seeking passionate, trustworthy Directors for each major sport (Softball, Baseball, Football, Cheer, Hockey, Lacrosse, Track and Field). You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for teams in your sport, guiding customers through the ordering process, advocating for their needs, and ensuring an exceptional experience from start to finish. This role is open to current coaches or teachers and can be part-time or full-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to schools, coaches, and teams in your sport

  • Leverage your coaching/teaching background to understand and solve customer pain points

  • Guide teams through the ordering process, ensuring quality, speed, and value

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners

  • Represent Hometown Team Sports at relevant events and in the community

  • Communicate clearly and honestly—always follow through on commitments

Requirements:

  • Current or former coach/teacher with deep knowledge of your sport

  • Strong phone communication and people skills; high emotional intelligence

  • Autonomous, self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision

  • Proven problem solver with a passion for helping others

  • Understands the real frustrations teams face: poor quality gear, slow service, high prices

  • Reputation for honesty, integrity, and reliability—always does what you say you’ll do

Additional Details:

  • Independent Contractor Status:

    • This is an independent contractor (1099) position—work remotely and set your own schedule.

  • Territory/Area Assignment:

    • Territories or areas will be assigned based on company needs and may be expanded or changed as the business grows.

  • Marketing & Outreach Expectations:

    • Leverage your personal and professional network, attend relevant events, and actively promote Hometown Team Sports through in-person interactions and social media.

    • Required to create and share at least one approved positive post about our brand, products, or services on your social media each week.

  • Compensation Structure:

    • Earn 10% commission on gross sales you generate, with opportunities for higher commission rates as you reach sales milestones.

    • Receive $100/day for attending and setting up at planned events, in addition to your commission.

    • Commissions are paid within 30 days after the customer receives their order and payment is collected.

  • Confidentiality & Non-Compete:

    • Must agree to confidentiality and non-compete terms, ensuring company and client information is protected and no competing activity occurs during and for 36 months after the agreement (unless waived by the company).
